30 Floors Up: first-night notes
Think of this game as a very slow siege. You live in an apartment thirty floors above a zombie outbreak, the aim is to last 100 days, and the main enemy is your own supply cupboard running empty.
What the first night actually teaches
The opening evening is a tutorial in disguise. You fill the cleaning bucket in the bathtub while the taps still work, then park it on the metal rack in the living room. After that you sweep the fridge, cupboards and shopping bag and carry everything to the pantry shelves. A counter tracks how many portions you have stored. Only then do you lock the entrance, look through the peephole and pick somewhere to sleep.
The one rule that matters
Noise. The game's own pitch is to stay quiet while zombies fill the hallways, and the neighbour who knocks on that first night says the same thing. Hook the door chain, use the peephole before you open up, and keep tinned food next to a can opener, because one without the other is dead weight.
